Human Resources Specialist (Recruiter)

The Plaza Communities Location: Corporate Office

Position Type: Full-Time

Monday-Friday 8a-430p - occasional weekends, evenings to cover job-related events

The Opportunity

Are you a high-energy HR professional with a passion for finding the right people to care for our seniors? As a Human Resources Specialist at The Plaza, you will be the driving force behind our staffing success. You will partner directly with the Director of Human Resources and our community Administrators to build a world-class workforce, ensuring our Residents receive the highest standard of care through the talented Team Members you bring on board.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Talent Acquisition: Develop and implement annual recruiting plans; manage the full-cycle hiring process from initial phone screens to coordinating virtual/in-person interviews at our communities.

  • Market Outreach: Act as a brand ambassador at job fairs, colleges, and industry associations to build a robust pipeline of talent.

  • Engagement & Retention: Assist in promoting Team Member engagement plans, referral programs, and coordinating engagement surveys to keep our workforce thriving.

  • Compliance & Administration: Ensure all HR programs align with state and federal laws, and manage the applicant database.

  • Budget & Strategy: Assist in developing and maintaining the HR recruiting budget while following industry trends to implement best practices.

What You Bring

  • Education: Minimum - Bachelor’s degree OR an equivalent combination of education and experience (such as an active PHR/SHRM-CP certification or 2+ years of professional HR experience). Preferred - Master’s degree or advanced HR certification (PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP).

  • Experience: At least one year of experience in HR management and professional recruiting is highly preferred.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of State and Federal labor laws and the ability to apply them in an assisted living setting.

  • Communication: Exceptional public speaking and writing skills; you should be comfortable presenting to groups and teaching recruitment principles to management.

  • Soft Skills: You are self-motivated, organized, and remain calm and tactful under pressure. You possess the "Recruiter’s eye" for talent and the judgment to resolve complex problems.

  • Requirements: Must meet all regulatory and facility pre-employment requirements and be able to perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, and occasional lifting.

Starting Salary is $55,000 per year - negotiable with relevant experience
